Students received a lecture from Mr. KOBAYASHI Osamu, on the subject of “Let’s imagine you and the world in 2030 — Let’s start with understanding connections —”. First, Mr. Kobayashi introduced the “17 Sustainable Development Goals” agreed upon by the world. Then students discussed goals of interest such as actions to eliminate discrimination, poverty and hunger, environmental protection and the right to education. In addition, Mr. Kobayashi introduced his experience in his childhood in the United States and his school days. Students learned that his experience, leaning and friends during his school days connected directly and indirectly the way he was today. The lecturer cited the September 11th terrorist attacks as an example that encouraged them to think about the connection between individuals and the world. At the end of the lecture, students realized that everyone could find his life meaningful and worth living if he had a rewarding career in the field which he had investigated thoroughly for a long time.
