Today, we had a lecture about cancer. I was surprised to know that even though cancer is commonly seen in people’s body, the study of cancer is quite new in the field of academic. I think it is wonderful that medical science has developed so much even though it is a new field. One in two Japanese will get cancer, and one in three will die of it. There are many people who as cancer around me, and there are many that died from it. There are few doctors and nurses in Ehime who major in cancer, and the number is also low when you see Japan as a whole. I was surprised that there are few doctors and nurses when there are many people who get cancer. I want to become a nurse in the future. Listening to today’s lecture, I became very interested in nurses who major in the field of cancer.

We saw a video featuring cancer patients and their families. Seeing the terror of cancer relapse with my own eyes, L got very scared when I replaced that situation to myself. Learning to “think about how you are going to live, not how you’re going to die”, I want to live my life in a meaningful way.
