○date Wednesday, June 24, 2015 13:30 ~ 15:10
○location Ehime University High-school, Multipurpose study room
○participants 10th graders
○lecturer Faculty of Education, Ehime University Associate professor Kenji Tsuyuguchi
We had a group discussion about “Who is the greatest leader in history in Japan and in abroad?”, “Who is a great leader around you?”, “What is needed for a leader?”, “Why do you need your club activity?”, and more. After that, all 10th graders thought together on a theme of “What we should do to become a great leader”.

I learned that there are many types of leaderships. Even thought it’s modest, there is an aiding•contributing type of leadership. I think that my mother applies to this. Which means that I’m being taught about leadership from my mother everyday, and I want to work hard to become like my mother. By learning about the PM theory of leadership, I realized that when the country and culture differs, the type of leader suited will also differ.

I learned a lot about leadership at this lecture. I realized that we have to somehow gain trust in order to become a leader. Paradoxically, I learned that even if you can’t become a leader, you can make things go well by forming teamwork. I thought that it is important for leaders to lead the team until today, but I learned that it is also important for them to think about others and gain their trust. Only then they become a true leader.

I learned about the PM theory and found that that differs among countries. I think my type is PM among the four patterns, and I want to set my goal high and work on things to get closer to this pattern. I have never given thought about leaders before, but today I learned that there are many types of leaders so I want to look for the type that best suits me on my daily life. First, I want to acquire things that are missing in me.
