‘Iyo-education’ class : We had a lecture on the theme of “Towel manufacturing industry” by the people from the company

This lecture’s purpose is to foster student’s work value and to learn how Ehime’s fiber industry is connected to the world by listening to stories of craftsman’s from different fields.
First, they explained us about machines created by predecessors with their originality and creativity that supported Imabari’s fiber industry. After that, they lectured about the history of Imabari’s fiber industry, the challenge to revive as a production area again, and the stories of Imabari Towel’s overseas promotion since 2009 when they started expanding globally, using examples and making it easy for us to understand.
We learned about the importance of being thankful to the people who have taught you, and the power to strive from his experience from 50 years ago when he started working at the field and was being taught as a craftsman.
