“Iyo Studies” class held.
○date: Monday, June 6th, 2016, 6th & 7th Period
○place: Ehime University Senior High School
○participants: The whole of 10th grade
○lecturer: Mr. Motohiro TAKAGI, Associate Professor, Faculty of Agriculture, Ehime University
Students received a lecture from Prof. Takagi on the subject of “Biodiversity conservation of endangered species”. Some people say it makes no sense to protect wildlife because a part of it may be extinct regardless of human help. However, the extinction of a species due to a race for survival is completely different from the extinction of a species due to human activities. Students learned their choice today in order to protect wildlife, looking at fish called “hinamoroko” (aphyocypris chinensis) which live around Ehime Prefecture as an example for endangered species.
